Having a miscarriage is much more common than anyone knows. Doctors will give you differing numbers as to the actual percentage, but many say they believe it to be 25 percent or higher. According to my doctor at the time no one is sure of the actual number of early miscarriage because many women miscarry even before they know they are pregnant and assume they are just having a late or heavy period.
