to get pregnantOnce you have made the decision to try for a baby, chances are you don’t want it to take forever and would like to know how to get pregnant fast. Fortunately, there are a number of simple steps you can take which will maximize your chances and get you on the right track not only to conceive quickly, but healthily too.

Body Weight

Being outside the normal healthy weight range for your height (whether underweight or overweight) can have an adverse effect on ovulation, with both groups displaying disruption. Steps should therefore be taken to get within the healthy weight range. If you are overweight, even slightly reducing body fat can help and if underweight, just a little gain can trigger ovulation.

Alcohol and Drugs

If both parties regularly drink, fertility can decline by around 50%. Alcohol is know to have an adverse effect on an early pregnancy so it makes complete sense to avoid it throughout pregnancy. It goes without saying that illegal drugs should be avoided. With regard to over the counter and prescription drugs, always mention to the pharmacist that you are trying to conceive and check that the drugs are safe. Less considered is the potential effect of caffeine. It is known that caffeine (as found in coffee, tea, chocolate and some fizzy drinks) can reduce the chances of conception so keep consumption to a minimum. Read the rest of this entry »

LH Ovulation Strip TestLH Ovulation Strip Test (online store): is used to obtain quick visual, semi-quantitative results for early detection of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) in urine samples. The LH surge is used to predict a release of mature ovum within 24-48 hours, at which the patient is most likely to become pregnant.

  • Best value – a cheap ovulation solution. To perform a test, ovulation test strips are dipped in a urine sample for 5 seconds;
  • 99% accurate results in under 5 minutes;
  • Designed for professional and home users;
  • Enclosed in a moisture proof pouch with a desiccant for long term storage (up to 24 months).

How Taken

Unlike pregnancy tests, morning (first morning urine) is not the best time to collect samples for ovulation tests, as LH is synthesized in your body early in the morning and will not appear in your urine until the afternoon. The ideal time to test is in the afternoon, around 2pm, though testing may safely take place from 10am to early evening.

  • Remove the test strip from its foil pouch;
  • Holding the strip vertically carefully dip it into the specimen. Do not immerse the strip past the maximum line;
  • The strip can be removed from the specimen when red dye begins to migrate through the Result Window. Interpret test results at 5 minutes.

Interpretation:

  • Make sure to read test results at 5-minute mark. Reading too early or too late may yield incorrect interpretation of the results and may vary according to users’ experience.

POSITIVE: The presence of two purple bands of similar color and darkness within the result window, no matter which one appears first, means that an increase in LH is detected. The Test Band may be darker than the Control Band

NEGATIVE: The presence of a purple Control Band and a lighter purple Test Band means that an increase in LH is not detected. The presence of only one purple colored band (Control Band) within the Result Window indicates that no LH increase has been detected.

Drug Class and Mechanism

LH Ovulation Strip Test works by allowing you to detect a your “LH Surge” – the sudden, brief increase in luteinizing hormone present in your urine just before you ovulate. Because fertilization of your egg can only occur within 24 hours after ovulation, predicting ovulation is the key to pinpointing your window of fertility and successfully conceiving a baby.

Our ovulation test strips are very sensitive (they detect the LH-surge with a sensitivity of 25mIU/ml/lh) and provide greater than 99% accuracy in determining your LH surge and helping you conceive.
Missed Dose

You can use LH Ovulation Strip Test whenever you feel you need to do so.

Storage

LH Ovulation Strip Test should be stored at room temperature (15 to 30 degrees C) for the duration of the shelf-life. LH Ovulation Strip Test must remain in the foil wrap or fog pouch until ready for use.
